Chic beach and resort wear label, Lotty B, offers a glimpse into the exclusive and seductive world of Mustique - a private Caribbean island renowned for its natural beauty as much as for its famous inhabitants.
Inspired by the island’s wealth of flora and fauna, local resident Lotty Bunbury, began hand painting silk sarongs on her arrival on Mustique in 1993. She sold them as her “Lotty B” collection in the local shop. For the first few years, every sarong was an original, but due to increasing demand from visitors and locals alike, Lotty went into print in 2002, officially launching her Lotty B label, and has since expanded the collection to include kaftans and resort wear. Famous for beautiful craftsmanship, presentation and attention to detail, her label has come to define the casual, elegant style that is Mustique.
Born in England, Lotty spent her childhood travelling the world with her parents and nine brothers and sisters. The ethnic influences of her travels, particularly Africa and the Far East, are evident in her many and varied designs. Mustique only added to her design inspirations when, what started out as a short break in the Caribbean with her husband Michael Bunbury (now the sole Doctor on the island), turned into a home for them both and their four children. The colours and nature of the island have all played a part in her original prints.
Lotty continues to hand paint her designs at her home on Mustique, ensuring they capture the essence of what the Lotty B brand stands for.
