Sarong style

August 11, 2021

We sometimes have enquiries from customers about how to style the garments that they love and to this end we are planning a series of "how to" posts.

We thought we would start with the sarong, which is Lotty’s favourite piece - in her own words: “I really never go anywhere without one…  The sarong is simply the most versatile and useful piece of clothing ever and can be made to fit almost every occasion, from acting as a sling for a sprained wrist to becoming a stunning evening dress.”

Whilst we do not have a photograph as the sarong being used as a sling in our library, we have plenty of others which demonstrate the many ways you can wear yours:

Flamboyant Flower blue cdc silk sarong and ruffle bandeau top
Featured here, the Flamboyant Flower print in blue, styled with a ruffle bandeau top also in silk crepe-de-chine.

Lime tree green silk chiffon sarong as bandeauThis silk chiffon sarong in the lime tree green print (scheduled for release later this year) is perfect as a head bandeau!

Banana Tree print in blue silk crepe-de-chine sarong worn as beach dress
Try popping yours over your bikini for lunch or cocktails..

Sarong worn as dress styled with jewellery
Add some jewellery to turn this simple garment into a stunning outfit!

Dressed for dinner in a sarong
This lady slipped her sparkly sandals off to walk on the beach, but you can see how a sarong can turn into the evening dress that Lotty referred to.

In other great news sarongs can be packed in a bag taking up the minimum of room or if you want to take barely any luggage at all, wear your sarong whilst travelling as a scarf or a belt.

A sarong is also perfect when lying on the beach if you don't want to carry a towel about. Ours are a great sized rectangle approx 69''/43'' (175cm/109cm) - bigger than the average beach towel!

Sarong as a throw to lie onWe hope that this has been of interest and that you find it useful.

We would love to know how you wear your sarongs - please do send in your photographs for us to add you to our "Pink House People" stories on Instagram.
