Patrick Lichfield took a fabulous shot of the island's children more than 20 years ago, and when his house, Obsidian was sold, I was given this picture along with a collection of his framed photos that I remember so well in the drawing room at Obsidian.
During the 50th Anniversary celebrations we thought it would be fun to reenact this photo with the next generation especially as so many of the same families still live and holiday here on Mustique. We chose the same Headland but the island has grown so much that we couldn't begin to fit everyone on the same rock, we had to use the larger set of rocks further round the point, so instead of looking back at Macaroni Beach, our shot was taken out to sea, and Alex, our photographer, stood where Patrick's photo had been staged.
Photos taken by Alex Amengual who was the official photographer for the entire week.
Wardrobe at the Beach! Everyone came down and if they weren't already wearing their Pink House Mustiques and Lotty Bs, they soon chose something from the baskets and rails which held a huge selection from years gone by all the way to the new season's samples.
Then heading on across the rocks and out onto the headland to the chosen spot.
Gabija chose two original silks I had hand painted in my first years living here on island along with my 2019 sample bikini of Fan Palm print.
