Yoga or Pilates?

May 11, 2021

Yoga or Pilates - this is a topic often talked about in our UK HQ. We have all practiced one, or both, in the last two years, with some of the team making a class or two a week a staple in their diary.

The reasons for choosing one over another are generally in line with published thinking - Yoga with a more meditative element and Pilates offering more in terms of rehabilitation post injury, for example.

However, we all agree that both offer stress relief; breathing techniques that help to connect our bodies and minds; the development of core strength and, best of all, an hour or so a week where there are no distractions! Good old fashioned "me time".

Lotty has designed the perfect activewear for either technique - choose leggings or shorts, or a cropped or longer length racer back top. The tops are both double lined with flat locked seams for maximum comfort. All items are made from an Italian polyamide which is not only quick wicking, but also stretches in 4 directions. Featuring the fabulous Fan Palm print.

Of course, there are lots of different types of Yoga and they all offer their own benefits. In Pilates most would consider mat classes the most traditional way to practice, but some choose reformer classes. At HQ there are people who have stuck to one discipline, but others who have tried a few out before finding one that suits them perfectly.
